Dang I forgot all about you saying to keep the tarsal gland. That's the gland on the legs barely visible in the foot picture above? Are they on all legs or just rear ones?

A little known secret here: Scrape out the waxy secretions from the metatarsal glands and rub them into a drag string used on your way to your stand. Those are the scents that deer use to follow each other.

correct. i just cut the tarsals out and use them. no real need in cutting the waxy nasty stuff out of it. either way, both will work good.
