First Deer

Great buck:thumbup:...especially for your first. That kind of mass is exceptional down here below the Mason Dixon...congrats..

Thanks guys for the nice reponses. Loose arrow, Its packed with snow because I laid in the snow to climb up the hill to get to my deer, I know it wasn't smart but it was smarter than climbing up with it. And yes I'm going to get it mounted, I thought euro mount but hten my Dad said it would be ok if I got a shoulder mount. And isn't as bad as you would think. Harley guy- I was hunting my Uncle's land up near Fort Dodge

Good for you. I like the shoulder mount idea. It may be awhile before another like that comes by. Nice mass to those antlers. Lots of memories. The comment about the gun was only for your safety. Took a young man hunting years ago and found him with mud packed in the tip of his barrel. I didn't quite know how to clean it out so he could shoot it safely. I now carry one of those flexible coiled cleaning rods. No lecture. Congrats, that one nice deer. Regards, Loosearrow

Great deer.

Lots of snow in Iowa this deer season, I hunt Iowa as well and haven't gotten a nice buck yet.

Good to see you useing a Falkniven, everyone I see around here has never heard of them before.

Congrats to you on that fine kill. That rack has some nice mass to it. We don't usually see racks with that much mass where I hunt. Congrats once again and good hunting in the future.:)

Congrats!! I would be super happy to bag that one anytime, even more if that had been my first. Nice job!
