First Emerson questions

Between the mini comm and the horseman I would personally probably go for the mini commander. I like the way recurves cut so that's why.

Either is a fine choice, just get the one that strikes your fancy more.

Haze and A.P.F., you say the the (Mini) CQC-8 is the best allround knife from EKI.
If you guys say so, I believe you, but I'd like to know why. ;)

Is it only because of it's blade shape or are there other factors?

I was talking about the regular 8 but the mini-8 is just as good, but smaller. :p

The whole knife just works. The blade shape is good for everything from kitchen duties to bushcraft to going butcher on
someone and anything else you can think of. The handle on that knife is great too, the Commander esque shape makes for
a very comfortable knife in a variety of grips. It's also a great looking knife IMO and that's always a pluss. :)

The Commander is one of EKIs classics but I am not a recurve fan at all. IMO and experience an up swept, non recurve blade is
far more usefull and easier to sharpen than a recurve as well, especially if you are on the fly and just need to touch up the
knife out in bush or at work etc.
