First Emerson Recommendations?

Horseman small? Now I'm worried. Anyone have a size comparison. I have a zt 0562 and a military, how does it compare to those. I have a buck vantage & paradigm, an endura, cs code 4.... Where does the horseman fall compaed to any of these. Thanks

I have a Horseman and it is not small, as small knives I usually think of, like a Spyderco Native 5; it's about 8.5 inches opened, the blade is about 3.6 (like a sebenza), and it is easy to carry and it looks bad ass; I also have a CQC8 and that is a beast (the Horseman is the small version of a CQC8); then I had a SuperCommander, and that was insanely big. I love the Horseman, that was my first Emerson knife, nothing but good to say about it, it is a user, and still has the factory edge. Can never go wrong with any of the other recommendations though, just get one, you will love it; there is a reason the Navy Seals use them Emerson Knives; once you try the wave opener and get used to it, you'll want to use it all the time, it works flawlessly.
Oh, and the ergonomics are some of the best, if not the best, in my opinion.

Oh, and I forgot, check the Roadhouse out, that is my next Emerson, love that blade.

CQC-7. I prefer and carry the more utilitarian 7A blade. Gets more pocket time than any other blade i have.

Commander. Nuff said. FWIW, get the regular sized instead of the mini unless you have REALLY small hands. The scaled down ergos just dont work at that size. Im currently in the process of getting rid of my mini so i can replace it with the full sized model.

Cant go wrong with any, but these two are icons.

I agree with that, regular commander is just awesome, huge belly ; what a knife! I forgot about that one.

I really like the specwar models. One of the most comfortable handles i have come across.

Not to get off topic but I was wondering if you guys have tried the new ZT/Emerson collab. ? I was going to buy one but I had second thoughts, I felt I was cheating or something

I really like the CQC7 and the Mini CQC15. The 7 I find great for work, it is easy to hang on to very ergonomic I like the tanto tip for scraping etc. and the blade is really robust. I like the mini CQC15 for the ergonomics and the blade grind both of which are amazing. Here are a couple of quick photos, the last one is a size comparison to a Manix 2.

That is a sweet blade, you just convinced me to get one, dang.

cqc-7. preferably the b ,but if you don't like chisel ground or tanto then a. if you like the chisel grind (i do-ease of sharpening-how sharp overall-cutting power) the super 7 or the super socfk both look great. that said i also have an a-100 i carried for ten years or so.(not that i'm wishy-washy;) i usually carried both)

My vote is for the CQC-7AW, followed by plain edge CQC-15. I have both, and the 7 is with me every day. It kicked the 15 out of my pocket, because for me it was just a little too big for EDC. I carry the 15 in the woods though.

Here they are, both before and after I had a bunch of work done by Josh at Razor Edge Knives.

We are nothing if not enablers here :-) which one CQC7 or mini 15?

The CQC7 man, that is a really nice knife. I will tell my kids it's your fault I spent my retirement fund on Emerson knives, heck just knives in general. Thanks again.

Really? That's a trip, from the Emerson shop? I thought Ernie only made the chisel grind....I got to go check their website

That makes it even more attractive, I think, even though it might be harder to sharpen in the field, maybe

Wow, guess I'm in the dark man. Thinking about it I remember Ernie saying something about it in a shot show video I watched a long time ago, maybe a year, has it it been out that long? I'm going to look for one. I will still blame you for my being poor:)

LOL feel free to blame me I can take the heat besides, I am a country away. They have been out for a while now, I think they are still listed on the Emerson website.

I have carried most of the lineup and I always end up carrying my 8....IMHO, it is the best designed Emerson.
