First Emerson!

Darn. I was hoping you'd make my choice easier by saying you hated the handle,

:D Its my favorite handle design that Emerson puts out. Just feels very nice in hand. I haven't owned any other Emersons, but I had the chance to handle just about every model at their table at NYCKS. Would have bought a Mini Commander if I wasn't already outta cash. ;) If you want, I can post some comparison pics of it with some other knives.

Can you please?

Hope they're helpful:

the rust should be fine for u. i do live in a high humidity area so im sure thats a factor as revdevil stated

What site sell these fake emersons?

I ordered the Commander from Amazon but it drop shipped directly from Orbit_INC who must be over seas because the first one they sent was siezed by customs, The second Commander they sent was the counterfeit.

You will be fine on the rust issue. I have had a few coated and non coated Emerson blades. The stone wash, IMO was easier to maintain and was a tougher finish. I always put a coat of good car wax on all my blades. They just clean up easier with the wax.

Got my first Emerson yesterday. There was dirt under the clip. I used my Cybertool and removed the clip, cleaned the dirt off and the G10, put the clip back on but noticed that the screws stripped...really easily. I didn't really apply much pressure.

Otherwise, I am still very impressed. I've been looking at this model for a long time.

Yup, V grind. I prefer the V grind or Emerson's conventional V grind. I can get these knives beyond sharp.

Very nice. If I ever get a CQC-7, it'll be that model. Not a huge fan of chisel ground blades. Don't mind the chisel ground bevel though. I agree, they get crazy sharp. Not hard to sharpen to a crazy edge either.

Congrats! The CQC-15 is next on my list. Really like the blade shape with that subtle tanto point.

Thanks! I spent a considerable (too much >.> ) amount of time checking out Emerson models and I think this one spoke to me the loudest. My only concern is the deal I got was a bit below MSRP. All my research pointed to legit so far, so I'm happy :)

This thing is wicked sharp!

I wouldn't call paying less than MSRP a "concern". ;) Unless it's WAY below what they normally go for. It looks like nothing but genuine Emerson to me. Now I have to track one down for myself. :D
