First ESEE - I'm in love! One question - how do I attach it to my belt?

Hey, guys, I just bought my first ESEE, and got the 6. I'm absolutely in love with it, but I do have one question to ask: how do I attach it to my belt? I am not an idiot, I don't think.

I tried a few different combinations with the MOLLE clips, but when I went vertically with the top hole and the second hole, the clips just didn't correctly. And when I tried to go down with the second and third holes, its too high. Is that the only way to do a belt attachment? And I don't even know if the MOLLE clips should even be used on the belt. Haha. I know they're for MOLLE gear, but what else would I use? I don't want to buy the MOLLE backing.

Thanks, guys. And again, I'm not an idiot, I guess I'm just not very good at this. I'm only 16, and sort of new to knives, and wanted to go to the experts.

Hey there, congrats on the 6 and welcome to the ESEE forum.

you can mount the 6 to your belt by making a belt loop out of paracord.

listen and learn much!

hey bud, use the paracord that came with it and form belt loops, check the paper"directions" that came with it. And enjoy that 6, its my f:thumbup:avorite

Those MOLLE clips are best for thin webbing belts and don't fit well on thick leather belts (if that's what you've got). Those clips are also designed to attach to a backpack or vest that has MOLLE webbing.

ESEE and places like knives ship free and the knife conncetion sell official ESEE attachments like clips and MOLLE backs that can just slide onto a belt like any other sheath, those may be worth looking into.

First, you're not an idiot. :)

The MOLLE clips don't work well with a belt, but you do have other options:

I've used a Tek-Lok, which works great, but you'll have to buy it separately. What's great about the Tek-Lok is once you put it on your sheath you can quickly snap it to your belt without having to take your belt off. You can also attach it to your pack if you wear a hip belt like I do.

Another cheaper (but very reliable) option is to use some 550 paracord. Many have done that with much success and it is very secure. Not quite as quick-detach, but still works well.

Nice choice on the 6, by the way!

Congrats. They are awesome knives. I recently got my first 4 after doing a lot of research and stumbling onto esee. Their CS is outstanding too. 6 is next on my list wish I had ordered one with the The 4

Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Thanks for the laugh, man.

And thanks to all of you for the kind, and extremely quick responses. I wish ESEE would have just shipped something that has that ability. But, paracord will work well, I think. Thanks for the tip.

follow the directions with the supplied sheet and use the paracord. It;s what I;ve been using ever since I've had my 6 and they work great.

I had good luck with the MOLLE Clips on my 4. stayed put on my leather belt without popping off. I'm using the para cord method right now and it's great.

Depending on where you are in WA, I would suggest taking a trip to the Blade-Tech store and picking up a Tek-Lok in person. I have them mounted on my Busse, and my ESEE (2 izulas)

Like everyone else said, use the paracord method. It has worked good for me so far, plus it gives you some different carry options, and the paracord is easy to move.

I also just got a 6 and the paracord method seems to work well. I'm still going to buy the MOLLE back with the belt loop :).

The para cord is a great idea until you get the MOLLE back. I really like that setup. I ordered it and the pouch for my esee 6. I would recommend the izula for belt carry. So many options just go with what is comfortable for you, and easy to use.

I have never had any love for the ESEE sheaths. I always wind up having someone make leather for me.

If i were you i'd invest in a teklok, they work great!!

I just ordered a ESEE 4 with ESEE kydex sheath only (no MOLLE anything), a day or two ago from the Knife Connection And was hoping to add a Tek-lok to it, but Dale said they don't fit?

Can anyone else confirm this? That really sucks if it doesn't because I think Tek-loks are the best & most secure option to add anything to a belt. I have an extra one laying around too...
