Here is my first ever double ground blade:

Specs:

ATS-34 heat treated to HRC 61, blade length: 4-7/8", overall: 9-1/2"

Brass guard with nickel silver and stainless steel Loveless bolts, brass thong tube

Black micarta scales with red liner, tapered tang

Looks gorgeous - but why the brass guard? I am not trying to degrade what appears to be excellent work, just wondering why brass, since it is seldom used - and most prefer it not be.

Hi Betzner, I just like working with brass and how it looks. I know more people are fond of stainless. I'm currently working on my first dropped hunter with a stainless guard ... this one's going to be a little different. ;)
