first fiddleback suggestions...

we talking like turning water into wine sort of miracle? lol

Totally. Those blades shipped to virginia are sold to be seen nevermore, nevermore....nevermore.

No, Will is a great guy, he might unload it. A respectful PM never hurt anybody.

I think the Bushfinger is a good one to get your feet wet with. Such an awesome design that will work well for a variety of tasks. The only Fiddleback I currently own is the production Bushfinger and I love it. I would really like to get my hands on one of the handmade Bushfingers. I had a Bushcrafter at one point, but ended up selling it about a year ago and I regret it.

Being a hunter myself, I would recommend a Recluse. I've used two different Bushfingers for deer hunting over several years, and although it will work, it's not the best choice if you choose to debone it with the same knife. The blade height is simply too tall to cleanly remove meat. I've sinced switched to another blade that more closely resembles the features of Recluse

The Recluse is geared more as a general hunting/bushcraft/utility knife. I'm excited to use this one next season :)

Joe is right, Will is a great guy... and I haven't shipped him that SWEET Bushfinger yet. If you want to send him a quick PM I can wait an hour before going to the Post Office- I'd just have to change the address label. PM him- it's his knife now, but it would be a nice first Fiddleback...
Just let me know, so I can mail it out today!

i cant send PM, and a lot say the email feature in the forum isnt the best, but I just tried sending him an email through that avenue.

Thanks for the encouragement guys

I'm going to get it in the mail to Virginia then, as I told Will I would. Check with him on it- or as many have said, watch the flea market, some really great knives pass thru there. I would echo Duder in another thing- go all in and buy one of Andy's great hand made models!

Welcome Morvlorv! We consider all of our knives to be user knives, regardless of how fancy they may or may not be.

You might consider our new production Bushfinger model. It is $225 w/ a sheath, and built for hard work. You'll see reviews and such in the forum here, and can also look at them here -

No doubt you'll get lots of good advice on here.

Thanks,
Ken

I saw those! Needless to say I'm anxious to get my hands on one.

morvlorv,

I got your email just a few minutes ago... I REALLY like this Bushfinger and would like to keep her. I sent a message with my direct email, maybe we can find you another one; I have 2 or 3 in the shoebox under the bed.

I was just helping my son with his math. I think you're having the same problem he did. The unit a measure seems a little off on how many Bushfingers are in the shoebox under the bed. :D :)

LOL!

What about the other shoeboxes?!

Keep the focus Kirkwood, focus, eyes on the prize. No one wants to know about those other shoeboxes Will, I mean no one.

morvlorv, Welcome aboard. I hope you shark the knife you want.

Preston

Thanks guys for all the help and suggestions.

i went ahead and went a different route, I went with a nessmuck.
Ive always admired that blade shape and have almost picked up other nessmucks on different occasions, just never did, since I have a canadian belt knife.
Well, i can retire that one as I think the nessmuck will make a superb replacement and more that the belt knife.

Thanks again guys... willic, hwyshredder, prom52, and the rest of you fellas.
