This is the first "finished" integral ive made, ive forged several, but never gotten around to finishing one until now. This blade was actually forged over a year ago, just havent made the time to finish.

Any how, forged from a bar of 5/8" W-2, 7" blade, 11-7/8" overall, Ceylon Ebony handle. Fun to make, going to be doing more of them. Learned a bit making this one, the hardest part for me was figuring out a good way to grind them, specifically transitioning from the bar to the blade... tricky.

Nice. I have always liked this style. I know it's heresy, but I would love to see one with a micarta handle.

Matt,

That's really a lovely, clean shape. Looks strong and wicked, like your big Bowies, but light and fast as well. Like to see more of these!

That really came out well Matt - great blade shape and I like the handle a lot, too. Good stuff.

thanks all!! I have another with a 9" blade, more belly, wider etc. Will probably be the next one I finish.

Will, you may be right, may be more of a "dirk" not real sure, as styles and definitions start to overlap at some point.
