First Fixed SOG

:D Hey all, new guy here. When I heard the Desert Dagger was discontinued I decided to jump at one, and for a relatively good deal. It came yesterday and man i like the feel of this dagger--it's much lighter than I imagined, and it feels great in the hand. The only thing that bugs me is the sheath, which I'm none too fond of. Is it safe to store the knife in kydex for long periods of time, or would this just expedite rusting and the like?
 
most people on this forum absolutely abhore sogs kydex sheaths , especially me . they demean the knife they come with .

There's something I find pretty sloppy about the kydex sheath, and whenever I take out the knife I can't help but think I'm wearing the edge. Out of curiosity, what sheath set up do you use for your desert dagger?
 
Desert Dagger is a very nicely balanced knife made from AUS6 which means rust shouldn't be a problem, scratching from kydex may be...
.
 
You snagged your self a nice knife. Everyone I've ever shown mine to has loved it. Kydex scratching can and will happen. IF you can get a nice Leather sheath made for a good price, I'd do it. The Kydex sheath works good for me, but a leather one is just more classy and doesn't scratch. Congrats!! :D

its quite simple itchytasty ; i don`t bother to use a sheath . i`m a collector of fully functional knives , i have 9 sogs , among about 120 other fully practical knives . if your a double edge fan like me i recomend you buy the sog pentagon as well. i know there are other people out there who hate sog`s bullshit kydex sheaths as much as me

Worse comes to worse I'll just have a sheath custom made, but for now the dag's staying out of the sheath--and yes I have checked out the Pentagon, it looks really nice :)
 
talk to people on the forum about the sheath if you want one , several forum chatters are in fact custom sheath makers.
