First flipper ~$200

ZT 0770CF or ZT 0450. Either one is reasonably small, light, easy to carry, still very capable.
 
Can't go wrong with either the Domino or the 0450. I love the Domino, such a good flipper. Just recently got the 0450 and love that little sucka. It has quite a detent on him but once you overcome it, it rockets out.

Spyderco Domino is probbie the best non assisted flipper and Kizers are really good for the money. The Southard is good but it's a honking big knife.
 
I have several of the ZT flippers. I think the safest recommendation would be either the 0450 or the 0808. Not much chance of you finding either to be too large or bulky. I prefer the Rexford designed 0808 to the Sinkevitch designed 0450.
 
I'll hop on the bandwagon. Get the 0450 for your first flipper. Its a rocket. Fun to play with. Even my gf loves it. Falls well under your price range so you can go get a nice sharpening stone to go with it or maybe get it anno'd or custom stand offs.
 
I have a ZT 0560 and 0562 and they are both amazing! the 0562 is probably my favorite. But you couldn't go wrong with either.
 
I just got a jason brous vr-71 g-10 and it's freaking great. It flips super smooth and is snappy, it has no blade play. It came razor sharp out of the box and it comes with a really nice case and card of authenticity. I paid a total of 219.00, it feels like a $400-500 dollar knife. I will definitely be getting more of Jason's knives.
