First Flipper Suggestions?

Yes, the Kershaw Thermite or Cryo II are very nice flippers for the price you are looking at. Another Kershaw that hasn't been mentioned but is also a very good flipper is the Kershaw Junk Yard Dog. It's a few dollars over your price point but worth it. It is a very good knife. You can get the composite blade model for even more money if you can upgrade the spending budget.

For that price range, definite +1 for CRKT and their budget ball-bearing flippers.

In my experience, any flipper with a ball bearing system is going to be a great choice.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys.

I think I'll focus on non-assisted flippers, at least at first. Seems to me having the knife finish the opening for me sorta dilutes the experience. ;)

I'll throw in a vote for something from the Buck Vantage Series. I've got the Pro model which is just barely above your price range but there are a couple more economical choices in the line. Great ergos, I love the blade shape and the they have a fantastic deep pocket clip. Not mention the Buck warranty.

Absolutely. The first time I flipped a ripple I thought there was a spring in it. Fantastic action. The skyline is great, too, but I personally prefer the ripple.
