Well, after taking a break from this project I got back at it today and pretty much finished this one up. It's a simple design and there is lots that I'll change on the next one including lock geometry overall shape, etc, but overall it was a pretty satisfying project working on my first folder. I almost had the pocket clip installed today but I broke a tap and will have to wait for some new ones from Enco. The detent also needs some tuning up, but I'm learning. I am happy though that when in the open position I have zero blade play in any direction. That was one of my big fears going into this. Anyway, stay tuned in the future for more models:D

Here are some pics of how it sits now

Thanks for looking!

Awesome work man! Your blade shapes and grinds lend themselves to folders for sure. I can't wait to see more.

Looks good Johnnymac....makes ya think harder than a fixed blade, don't it. I'm working on #2 and #3 button locks right now. I locked a4-40 tap up today in a chunk of steel and thought I was going to break it, but got it loose:)

Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate the feedback. I still have a LONG way to go in the world of folders, but the more I work on them the more I learn. Looking forward to showing you all some more stuff real soon!

I like what I'm seeing on the proto... and I also like what I see on that extra pic at the end :D

Incredible work for your first folder buddy, shows you have a knack for this!

How does it flip? Curious as to what kind of washer/bearing you utilized?

Very sweet! Been using my JMK drop point everyday! Looking forward to seeing some folders! Looks like a possible frame lock in the works? Oh hell yeah!!

Sweet Jon - I knew some great stuff was coming when you got that mill!

You like the brown and black look, so do I!
