Yea. 3v is my absolute favourite steel. Its just a bit hard for what I'm looking for in a folder.
It's a bit too hard?

Steels don't have intrinsic hardnesses built into them. 3v COULD be run pretty hard, but then so could most of the other steels listed.....
If anything, 3v makes a poor choice for a folder because it's too prone to corrosion and there aren't too many people who will work with it (In folders at least)
Like everyone else has said, get a small slicey folder and pair it up with a tough fixed blade. No need for excessive lock strength..... Nothing you SHOULD be doing with it will cause it to close on you.
At no point in any cutting task should you be putting extreme pressure on the spine. If you are, then you aren't CUTTING
