First for 2012, W2 & Curly Ash Bowie

thanks all, Joe- the Chromic Trioxide doesnt have to be toasted or warmed etc... just apply just like a stain, let it dry then burnish with steel wool until the desired "look" is achieved. I was told it "burns" the sugars in the maple, really gives it a 3d/translucent affect. I need to order some more.

Matt, that one gets my vote for best bowie of the year, so far. Love everything about it and is my second favorite Lamey Bowie.

Matt,

Killer bowie. It is amazing how your knives just call out for us to buy them!

thanks again for the kind words. Wulf the stain used on this one is Brownells "Military" stain Formula XIII - light brown with red tone. I thought I was mixing 2 but looked at the bottles today and they are the same!!

If Bill Bagwell was about to update the short list of battleworthy bowie knife makers in his book im sure matt would be on it.

going to have my friend Charlie Edmondson make some leather for it this weekend.

GREAT way to start off the year Matt! AWESOME looking bowie, nice hamon and curly ash looks very good!

Peter

Lamey, you're still my hero.

Awesome, blade, bro - love every aspect of it!!!!

Wulfie - you got curly maple that grows on trees up there? What'll they think of next...? I didn't think they had those technologies up in VT.
