• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I pieced together a pretty succesful forge for heat treating. Paintcan shell, 1/4" 8# Kaowool layered to about 2" thick, satanite and ITC-100 coated, with a simple Bernz-O-Matic propane torch. She gets up to temp in about 10min or so.

While firing the ITC-100

Along with a stainless steel drywall mud pan for my oil, I think I'm set to make some metal hard.

that for sure will work looks good , we around here have been building them somewhat different we have found that if you place a pipe inside and place the wool out to the sides of the forge or can in your case it will work great in heating the pipe and in return allow the heat to be even inside the pipe and will not have as much of a hot spot giving a better control
heating for heat treating
just something that we have been playing with and getting good even temp in the pipe
