I found an old drag tooth harrow spike and decided to forge a blade. I did a spark test and the sparks are very similar to what I was getting from a piece of 1084. I have forged profiled flat bar stock a few times but I mostly do stock removal for my knife making. But I have been wanting to forge a knife from something different and this started out as a round hook shaped piece of steel. The steel hardened nicely (file skate test). I have tempered it and just put burlap micarta scales on it, so I'll be able to post pictures of that in the next couple of days.
This photo is just before heat treating and tempering and finish grinding. Also posting up a picture of one of my stock removal blades. Feedback and suggestions welcome. Thanks!

those look great! I'm sure forging from round stock for the first time has some challenges, you evidently have it down pretty well. Also your finished stock removal knife looks very comfortable, handy, and love the figured wood.

Thank you knoxknives! One of the things I see that I need to pay attention to is hammer edge marks. I'm sure this will come with practice!
The wood on the other knife is Ringed Gidgee from Australia. It is one of my favorite woods. It is very dense and finishes well with just hand sanding and hand buffing.
