First Forged Knife

Hell Rick, that little fixed blade finished out Nice! It's W1 not W2, but close enough.

I want one of your folders!

Rick, take a few more pulls off that wild turkey bottle and send me that ivory Lanny's Clip!

Come down we are breaking spoons to lead starting Tuesday. 0500 setting sail, 0700 gearing will be screaming, 1300 w2 will be in the testing phase. Grin..

I'd love to Rick, but doubt I can get away. Will have to plan a trip at some point.

Your killin me with all these pictures man, I want a Menefee knife!!!

These are the ones I reach for the most.........

Oh yeah, as an aside..........

Got back from my deer lease a few days ago. Picked up a package from Ricky Bob Menefee when I went to the P.O. Box.

Needless to say, I'm jazzed. My first Damascus blade.

Rick said it was forged from 3 different high carbon steels. 1084, 1095 and 15n20.

A few more snaps...........

He said that this was his first forged Damascus blade, so that would make it a first for the both of us.

I'd say, not bad for a beginner.

But what do I know.

I just use them.

JAPPF,

Gee they look great

One I finished today. Don't have a hunting knife of my own may keep and use it. I like it
My third run at a hamon.

Rick, keep that W2 stag one and use it, you'll like it man.

Are you forging down that large round W2 for these?

Rick, stay out of those bottles and the hamon lines won't be so wavy. Must be why the early results are lookin' good. ;)

Becoming a forgin' fool. That butterscotch fixed looks yummy.

Nice work! Keep hammerin' away.
