Here is the first one that I ever hammered out, I`m pleased with how it came out!

6 7/8" overall
3 1/4" blade
1/8" O1 steel
Cherry handles
Brass pins

This one is going to jds1 as a thank you for gifting me the anvil.

Congratulations, John!!

Quite an achievement! Congrats to Jeff for getting forged #1!

That is awesome John! I'm very honored to be gifted such a special piece!

looks great John. i like the cherry handles. should be a great skinning blade.

Very cool. It looks like a great hunting/skinning blade. I bet it was fun to hammer out.

Very therapeutic, banging on something like that. (on purpose)

Looks great!

Wowza! Great job man!

Id like one like that but with the blade reversed on the other side. Kind of like a Cotton Sampler knife.

Well I'll be damned, that is a damned fine looking knife!
Congrats to you both!

Did you have a design in mind before starting or let the steel take you to the finished product? I'm looking forward to being able to get my first forged JK, very nice work!

The steel led the way, but I learned a few tricks doing this one. I hammered out another this morning, and I showed the steel who was boss this time.

Nice .

I thought about your forging yesterday. I was out for a walk with the Mrs. and found a couple RR spikes near an old, unused spur.
