Ok so PAU's excellent little friction folder in the shop thread has pushed me over the edge to try a simple friction folder. I've wanted to for some time. I've been perusing some old threads here and there and I think I have the gist of it but would like to double check my to-buy list.

I have handle materials so I don't need to buy any more. I was thinking either 1/4 or 1/8 Micarta with/without a .030 brass or G10 liner. I have that already.

Washers x 2 this size? http://www.texasknife.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=52_890_554&products_id=2042

I have a #30 drill for 1/8 pinstock but should I buy a reamer as well? If so should I use a smaller drill than my #30?

I would like the option of tightening the mechanism in the future if it loosens so some .125 pivots and screws seem logical like from AKS

I assume that I can just grind down the barrel of the pivot if it is too long? Should I just start with 1/8 pins epoxy them in and grind flush?

Very important as well is a template to make sure the mechanism works so I will work on that and post as well if I hit any hiccups.

I read that it is very important to get the spacer the same thickness as the blade + washers but any other words of wisdom before I make my order?

Thanks!

no help here, but looking forward to the answers as this is my next project as well.

good luck

A stop pin and some screws for the backspacer. I use
2-56 from AKS. Plus a tap for the screws if you don't already have them. Oh, and a reamer for the pivot and stop pin.
