First full grind/tapered tang (& a question)

Yes I'm still making knives. :) ...Just very slowly, until today. Actually, I hope to finish this pair and sell them at around cost to recoup some material costs and re-order abrasives and wood.
I think they came out pretty well. I suppose the taper needs to come up to where the scale will end, right?

I couldn't for the life of me get a picture where shadows didn't make the blade seem off (the blade is actually leaning to the right in this one because of the paper it was on) but I checked it thoroughly and I haven't screwed up yet, far as I know:o (I need a light box)

The tapered tang will have black ash burl handles, the other will get linen micarta, probably.

I think you did just great as far as I can see. I think there are two kinds of tapered full tang, one ends where the scale/bolster ends, one ends at the plunge. I guess both are ok, but theoretically ending the distal taper at the ricasso start will be a little stronger than the one ends at the plunge. I prefer it ending at the edge of scales...
