First Full-Size Becker

Pics!

Here he is in hand. Need to find a name for 'im.

Also whipped up a removable lanyard. Favor blue because A) 'tis my favorite color and B) it stands out in the wilderness and isn't quite so eye-hurting as orange.

It's so...new :barf: Go cut everything with it until it's not pretty anymore. :D

The blue lanyard is nice though.

Heh. I work an evening shift so I'm being lazy before work today. If the weather holds up I'll fire up our fire pit tomorrow night and break a bunch of things to feed it with.

Edited to add: Damn, Granite. I like that stripped 9. That's all sorts of sweetness.

Yeah. You should get you one. All the cool kids are doing it. Mine's not as pretty though. Especially right now...

hawaiianhawk,
Did you get your 9 yet?
:p

You might wanna do that here pretty quick if you haven't. When you have a BK9, your house is 67% less likely to be struck by debris from exploding alien space ships and you'll have to replace the wiper blades on your car only half as often. And legend has it that deep in the woods is a doughnut shop that gives free apple fritters to BK9 owners, if you can find it. Also, some fat guy in Colorado will finally shut up about it.

It might have a slight advantage in chopping, but the BK9 is surprisingly good at just about anything else as well. I'll probably get a BK4 for the heck of it and then I'll see for myself.

From what I have gathered, the 4 has a bit of a learning curve. Put a 4 and a 9 in someones hand and the 9 typically wins the chopping contest. Put them in the hands of someone who knows the proper technique for using it and the 4 wins. I have no idea if that's true though; I think I will just have to get them both and see which one I like better.

That's always the best course of action.

Howdy, GSO. Yeah, it's the rainy season right now but the last few days have been nice and sunny and hot and very humid... Perfect beach weather! (So of course instead I had work.) And it's supposedly been one of the five quietest hurricane seasons since the sixties or something this past year. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, but yeah, it's easily one of the most expensive places in America. How'd you like it here and how long ago was it, if you don't mind me asking?

Spent 3 years there, summer of 2002 to 2005. I don't miss the humidity though....I had a pair of leather Birkenstocks that I bought in Germany turn green from mold since I left them in the back of the closet for a few months. I hadn't been wearing them since we always wore "rubbah slippahs" to the beach.

Nerp, still 9less. :P

Wow! So many perks! Not to mention the fistful of 1095 Cro-Van goodness that the 9 itself is! :D

I am really digging those blue lanyards!

I like 'em better than orange.

Yeah, gotta watch your leather goods here. And HALLELUJAH somebody who said it right, and not "flip-flops"! Hahaha! Anybody who says that is instantly branded as a newcomer.
