Ok guys (and ladies if there are any here). Here's the first one I'm going to give away and it is going to be on the honor system.

I'd like to give this custom shop 110 away to a service man or woman currently serving in Iraq or who has served there during Operation Iraqui Freedom. If that's you, your son, daughter or brother, etc., tell me about it. I know that all of you will be honest about it.

Just tell me your story and I'll have my lady friend pick at random from the replies next Saturday.

I bought the knife sometime ago and it appears to have oak handles, nickel silver bolsters and the words "Iraqui Freedom 2003" engraved on the 420HC (I believe) blade. The blade has "Designers Choice" on the back side. It will come with a brand new black leather or nylon sheath depending on the new owners preference.

Nice idea and very appropriate knife. Of course, I'm not in the running, just wanted to say.

Well, I've never really felt that great about having it since I was never in the service. It's a pretty plain, but nice knife and I think someone who has been there and done that should be the one to own it.

Dave,
Sorry, it's the "been there, done that, got the T-shirt" saying.

Been to OEF, not OIF.

Excellent Plum, wish I could participate. I'm sure there is a very deserving contestant out there. And that aint plain-nothing wrong with refined beauty

"Been to OEF, not OIF."

Can you translate for this civilian?:o

I think one is "Op Iraqi Freedom" and the other is "Op Enduring Freedom".

Ohen, I'm sure will correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW, it is "Iraqi" not "Iraqui"

I correct myself:

Iraqui is an alternate spelling, often seen in Europe. Both are apparently correct.

I was wondering because I saw that spelling on several websites when I did a search. You're right about OEF, I found that during a search also.

I'm glad that it's an alternate spelling after all. I was considering pulling the offer because of the misspelling on the knife. Whew!

Yeah, that is kind of a relief, isn't it?

I'm not getting any response here as far as potential winners go, so maybe this was a bad idea. Perhaps I should find another way to find it a home.

i have a good friend who lives in South Dakota whos husband just joined awhile back, (Real One) but he's pretty busy now, considering they are expecting a baby this summer. Annie served in Iraq as a "fueler" for military vehicles. i dont know alot about what her duties were more than that. she's still active and puts in her time monthly, but as a guy with no military experience im not familiar with the terminology. maybe he will chime in and tell a little more about her, but she is a young proud American that will stand up and scream at anyone who has a negative thing to say about our troops and the job theyre doing over there. ive seen it:eek:
