  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

First Going Gear Firesteel & Some Radiation Vectoring (wet-winter fire)

Hey Mist..its good to see you again. I'm always amazed by the detail you put in these threads. I like that fire steel! It seems like agood idea in that you can turn it around/change directions to avoid that "sharp like a pencil" effect that happens to the others after a bit.. Whats the actual lenght in inches on that? Have you tried it with the Bryan&Brian beveled spine? Do it Man!!!! :) We NEED pics of the "blast of sparks" coming off that!

Thanks man, I'm glad you liked the threads. I like this firesteel too. It is taking a little getting used to but I'm definitely liking it.

This one is 4 inches long and 3/8 diameter

I have tried it and yes it does throw good sparks with the other knives and strikers.... but I'm alone here at the moment and so I have to choose between throwing sparks and taking pics...can't do both :o

Today I got to check out the GG badger a little more. It's still taking me a bit to get the hang of the different sparking characteristics, however I did manage fire with Cedar bark...somewhat damp Cedar bark at that...just fine
