I screwed up my first try on O1 so I gave it another try on 440c. Decided to try a small cooking knife for starters, 4.5 inch 3/16 blade 9 inches overall. Thinking of using some Water Buffalo horn for the handle.
Thanks

good for you. Be sure to drill the tang holes before heat treating. Post how she turns out :)

Good looking grind randg! Shorter Blades will for sure shorten your learning curve at first.Keep up the good work  I like the way Buf Horn looks . Still one of my favorite looking handle materials as far as natural materials go.It takes on a great finish and always has unique character to it.

Looking good, I knew it felt like I'd never learn to grind. Sometimes still feels that way!:D
