Ok, Thanks to two outstanding guys, begreen and AZTimZ, I managed to land my grail. Matter of fact its three in one kind of deal!!! I just got a moment to post the pictures!

I always wanted a FSH, and thats what I scored, not only that, its a custom shop HOGFSH!!!! And on top of that, I got a chaddy bear leather sheath with it!!! Can you say score or what!

I'm excited and can't find words to describe it. The knife is awesome, I now know why some of you say that if you only could have one it'd be FSH. It is a big knife though, much bigger then I thought. Busse knives look good on pictures, but in hand or in front of you they look and feel much better then expected.

The Chuddy Bear sheath, is amazing, the quality and craftsmanship really are superb. just plain awesome!!!

OK I think I started to rumble a bit so here are the pictures, sorry for the crappy photo skills, hopefully I make up for it in content. (And I was gonna take a picture with my satin BCTMCG but forgot)

And here is the resent trip to the mountains, I do have a Busse on me but it was really hard to take pictures. We came at night, there were some mad winds, pitching a tent sucked, and we did it wrong, so we ended up with wind going through our tent entire night, there were two of us in that tent, and we got like 2 hours of sleep that night. We both thought that the other one was asleep so we didn't even talk. My sleeping bag as some of might remember got stolen, so I had to use an old one with a broken zipper, that sucked. Some of our friends came too, but being Los Angeles boys and girls they were, "its going to be f***ing cold!" and "there is going to be snow" wasn't enough of a warning to them. They froze then ran off to their car, and then decided to drive from parking to the camp site in their BMW X5, and promptly got stuck about half a foot from a parking lot. They called the AAA who told them the roads are closed and its gonna take them a while. So we decided to go and continue to camp (read as: drink) and they stayed waiting for AAA, that was the last I saw them.

Next morning we woke up, miserable and cold but with a sense of accomplishment (read as: still drunk). There was an abandoned tent next to us and our friends were nowhere to be found.

[/IMG]
It was bright, and clear, with no wind but a lot of snow falling, we opened a 40 each and proceeded to plan ahead
snowcamp3.jpg
[/IMG]
We went to the car to get the ax and the shovel
snowcamp7.jpg
[/IMG]
then came back to the camp site
snowcamp8.jpg
[/IMG]
The plan was to fix the tent and dig a hole the a moat then walls around it to protect us from the wind
snowcamp2.jpg
[/IMG]
snowcamp1.jpg
[/IMG]
After that was done, we turned to cook our food (read as: drink)
snowcamp4.jpg
[/IMG]
Then went to sleep

The night sucked again there was less wind but my sleeping bag was broken, and condensation from our breath froze at the top of the tent and started dripping on me, so now i had a wet and broken sleeping bag, hence i wussied out and went to the car to warm up, my shoes were frozen solid as were my gloves and my hat, after 15 minute struggle with the shoes and 5 minute walk I made it to the car. Best two hours of my life. Next morning it was really nice out again but we had to clean up and leave for Los Angeles.

Over all snow camping experience was good. Next time I'm going there for a day, and skipping the night, at least until I get me a new sleeping bag.

OK hope I entertained ya for a while, so cheers and if you are to lazy to read all that, well thats why pictures are there,

Cheers

Yeah, you will love it, I love mine. I wish the pouch was a little bigger so I can stick my leatherman wave in, but oh well, I'm planing to get a fire starting kit.

Are those Dogs real? They looked like stuffed animal toys. If it's real name it Infi.

Thanks guys.

Yes they are real, look like stuffed animal toys but there are three of them and they have really sharp pointy teeth, so its a pack of cute and cuddly ankle-biters. And yes I am actually considering Infi as one of the names.

Great photo's. We really had a bummer snow season where I am at this winter. No fun in the snow for me.

Looks like a great time, even if you were cold. Having decent gear really makes the difference. I almost died of hypothermia in the Gand Teatons once, and that really opened my eyes to packing warm, checking my gear before hand, and having a back up plan.

Yeah man I know cold, but this was an hour drive from Los Angeles CA, where it was sunny and warm, I really did figure its gonna be a bit warmer, plus I found out about the trip like two days in advance. Couple of month ago thieves broke into my car and stole my camping gear. So I had to improvise. I wore three pairs of pants all of which were water proof, a long sleeve military issue "tel'njashka", a wool sweater on top, and a thick ski jacket. So I was prepared and warm most of the time when I was moving around. It was a nice trip overall, and we'd take more pictures but most of the time the snowfall was so thick the camera couldn't focus. I'm, used to cold weather, but I'm not used to sleeping in belove freezing temperatures.

Volk,

great story, man! LOL. you entertained me this morning, for sure. :)
... ah, and nice blade& $heath.

Nice blades and sheath good score Volk. I think the FSH is an awesome knife for sure,I just love mine. Man you must be a hardcore camper. You definately need to get another sleeping bag, they make all the difference in the world when you sleep out under the stars, and in the snow. Next time cover your tent with a tarp and tie it down good.It will keep the wind out and heat in. It looks like your dog was quite intriged with your new FSH the way he was stairing at it. That must be Infi huh. ;)

1. Nice lookin' SH ya got there!!! I like the pic of the mini-pup chewing on the tip. Hopin' that dangler sheath works out well for you. It's a style I personally like, especially for larger knives.

2. What breed are the fluff-balls? American Eskimo? Or are they gonna be bigger than that?

3. Thanks for the camping trip pics and story. Those nights of misery are the ones that give us the best tales to tell around the campfire on other, more comfortable -- like summertime -- outings. Hope you had some solid food to go along with the liquid intake. ;) :D

4. For a new sleeping bag look into Wiggy's sleeping bags as one of the options. They are sort of the Busse of sleeping gear. My bag o' choice from them is the Super Light. At 4 lbs it's not as light as a down bag to carry in your pack, but in the soggy NW USA its ability to keep a body warm and dry is priceless.

I was wondering what area you were camping in? I am envious that you californians can have sunny hot weather and drive an hour and camp in a blizzard lol

here in New England when it's cold it's damn cold...and when its hot it's damn hot. although I will say our last few summers have been short and not great weather. The winters were getting longer and summers getting shorter.

Luckily this past year winter was mild and we just had some record high temps for march..high 60s

i am dying to get out camping and hiking, I can't get my girlfriend out camping past october here. I spend most of the fall and early winter hunting anyway!!

i like your dogs as well!! I would have guessed samoyed pups??

I have a 14 pound female pug that think she is a mastiff lol
dogs give the house alot of life!!
cheers J

I'd name the dog Ted.

How do you pronounce the name of that bourbon. I say "bullet" a friend of mine says "boo-leet"

ikkyo, glad I did.

762, I'm far from a hard core, just thought it was something I must try. And yes on the sleeping bag, I had a great one, and the one that i used was also great before the zipper broke, so I couldn't close it. The only thing that did work was the hoodie, and that probably saved my life. The problem with our tent was that in the dark and the rush of things we secured the tarp upside down, which ended up only protecting us from snow fall above and not from the wind. Also its a real pain to tie it down since the sticks easily get puled out of the snow. So what we had to do was put our gear inside first so the tent doesn't fly away, and then make long harpoon like sticks from the branches around us, and hammer them deep to keep everything properly strapped in. next day proper tarp mounting was priority number one though.

Another pain was starting a fire from scratch, everything was alive and wet or frozen, but we manage to get it going, through a lot of magic dances (blowing and swinging oat it etc.)

Lycosa and Maqua thanks :D

1 yeah for camping it is the best legal option I can possibly have, I don't like walking around looking like I'm showing off my knife, so ideally it have it upside down sideways on the back, or upside down under my left arm. But since that is considered here carrying a concealed weapon, the type of sheath I got, is legal and probably the most comfortable form as well.

2 Good eye (or good memory from my last puppy post ;) ) They are American Eskimo, we got three of them small ones, I'm keeping one. The mother is miniature Eskimo (the small ones are toy) the father is a standard Eskimo (longer legs then the mother). The Girl I'm keeping is the biggest so its going to be the standard size. I'd want something bigger like Samoyed, but it sheds like crazy and leaves piles of poop like mountains, and eats a lot too, so this is ideal compromise.

3 Hehe, the nights of misery, but the day made it worth it, just beautiful. As for the food, my friend had to bring marinaded meat and fish, and he forgot it at home. So we ended up with sausages and canned chilly. It was all cooked (warmed up) on the fire and that was the best chilly I've ever had, we all agreed that it was better then sex. I'm not sure though weather everyone was talking about the taste or the warmness of it. But at cold temperatures, you can drink a lot more without getting drunk we finished few flasks, and a bottle of makers mark, and were completely sober. (My brother in law told me a story that his father served somewhere in Siberia, where it has gotten ridiculously cold, something on the order of -75 C at night, and they worked in the cafeteria about 15 minute walk from the housing. He and his partner were the last to leave so they had no ride and had to walk. So they learned to chug the entire bottle of vodka before they left. The vodka didn't hit them it was so cold. But when they got home the biggest problem they faced was, speed of shoe removal. Because inside is heated to + 25 C the overall temperature difference is so drastic that the vodka instantly hit them and they passed out in the lobby)

4 due to buying the Busse of knives I can't afford to buy the Busse of anything Else. But I will check those out.

Manix
It was in frazier park Mt Pinos, I was told its one of the best cross country ski places in US. And yeah Cali is awesome in that respect, we are planing a trip to Mt. Baldy, which I was told the highest peak in continental US, and in Cali as well.

I read as if you said you were from England, oops. Haven't visited, will do some time in the future.

The dog is a slightly smaller version of Samoyed, and they do give life, we just have 5 of them at the moment and its a nut house. We are going to give one puppy back to the father, and sell another, I'm keeping the third.

I can't argue with the originality of Ted for a girl dog.

I usually just point at the bottle and mumble something in the middle of Buleet and Bulejt
