First Gun My Wife Buys Herself- Won't Work

Those PP's are great; I've wanted one for awhile. I teased my gunsmith after he picked on up that he had a mail box killer. (for some reason in the rural US, mailboxes are a target of vandalism)

I fell in love with the looks and ergonomics of the P-22 and bought one over a year ago. I've only put maybe 300 rounds through it of mixed kinds and brands and it hasn't ever bobbled that I can remember. I just love the little plastic bugger. I agree with Danny that the clerk probably broke something when he tried to force things or when he showed it to a previous customer.

BTW, the Fobus WP99 holster for the Walther P-99 fits it fine.

I'm unsurprised but glad for you, munk.

I think it was Will Rogers who said that most of the problems he'd had in his life never happened.

And Kismet, as always, said it well and truly: " A normal person is someone you don't know very well."

Where else but Montana would the dealer take it back and give you another new gun? IN Calif they would have told me to POUND SAND.

Even though it says "Walther" on it, P22s don't have a good reputation for reliability. TPHs can be cranky, too.

Hey, Munk;

Return it and get your money back and buy a different one. Make sure you write down the serial number so that you don't buy the same one twice.

The store should either give you the money back or store credit and they should NOT charge you a restocking fee since the pistol was obviously defective from the get-go.

Good luck.

From what I've read on the High Road, many of the problems with the P22 were several years ago, and involved reliable functioning and or the safety. Functioning issues seem to be resolved after a break in period.

It is my Wife's decision. It really doesn't matter how much I know about guns.
