First Horn handle

After a few fits and starts I am nearly done with my first attempt at a (water buffalo) horn handle.

I have 2 questions before I go any further:

1. Should I fill (superglue I assume) the voids that I have uncovered in the interior of one of the slabs? I fear buffing right now, as the voids are going to fill up with gunk and look bad.

2. Should I just polish (how far, at 600 grit right now) or is there something I should apply to the scales as I complete them?

Thanks in advance!

BTW, constructive criticism is encouraged...:D

yes, just fill with some super glue and sand smooth then finish with a light buff after sanding.
