Wanted to get some corrosion off a "dull" knife with sandpaper . Then I slipped. Definitely could have been avoided if I was smarter

Probably wont be your last unfortunately lol

Since I've gotten into this, I'm having those days a lot. I was showing my son how to close an SOG Ageis the other day, and I completely failed.

In fact, I had a little trouble getting into my bio-metric gun safe the other day because most of my fingerprints were....not right. :)

Just pour some whiskey on it and wrap it with duct tape like a real man.

Or, just two words- staple gun.

:D.

Ha, I am happy to see another fan of blue tape! It's so much easier to remove than electrical tape.

A little peroxide and some super glue you will be back sanding.

Just had to use this trick tonight myself.

Should make the OP feel better. Today I used a razor sharp hatchet to rough cut some Osage making a new handle for another hatchet I'm restoring. I also used my knife to cut up an apple for my sons. I cut my finger on the back of my knuckle on the lid of a chef boyardee can :grumpy:

Better just flush with saline solution if the cut and knife is clean. Glue, butterfly or stitch. That's what the doc told me.

I've cut myself quite a lot before, this was just the first deep cut. I tried superglue as that's my go to for minor nicks but it was bleeding so bad it wouldn't stick :p. I sprayed it with ballistol, wrapped it in a clean gun patch, and used some blue masking tape to wrap it since I ran out of the electrical tape. I just got careless. It should be back to normal in a few days, thankfully I heal fast.

Mine was pretty good. First time sharpening by hand I used my thumb as the angle holder. Between the spine and stone. Thought nothing of it until I felt a bit of pain. I'd thinned my thumbnail to the point it was extremely flexible. Took over a month to grow out! Was surprisingly painful

Did something just a minute ago, went to pull a lanyard tight and pulled the knife right out of the leather sheath and across my thumb... I only cut myself once or twice a year but this week I've done it twice..

that's a good reason to stick with stainless. Beyond that, if you don't get nicked now and then, you're not using your knife.

I read this thread about an hour ago and the following just happened less than 10 minutes ago. I work overnights and handed my Halo 5 to a guy. He thinks its an auto folder but I realize that too late as he depresses the button. I yelled "It's an out the front!" about a half second too late. Nice slice on the side of his index finger. First words out of his mouth are, "I have super glue."

When I'm in the shop working and I don't cut myself, I wonder what went wrong!:D I cut my fingers so often, I carry bandages in my wallet. If I'm around someone that gets cut, I whip out a bandaid and they look at me and say "you must get cut often"
