Long time knife carrier but first time spydie owner. My Delica 4 came in the mail yesterday. Great looking box, first off. I immediately opened it up and started flicking this badboy. At first, the action was a little stiff, like all knives. But since last night it opens VERY smooth. The knife is easy to find in my pocket, it almost jumps into my hands everytime I reach for it. I have some cuts on my finger from playing with closing it one-handed ... but I am getting the hang of it. Curse my small girlish hands! My girlfriend even had to tell me 'Quit playing with your damn knife it's not a toy', to which I replied 'It's not a toy, it's a tool, but it's fun to play with.'

The things that impressed me the most with this knife is this:

* Ergonomics
Probably the most comfortable knife I've ever held in my hands.

* Simplicity and quality
A fan of "KISS" , these knives are really solid. A simple design but with the strength of ten men. This thing is truly a work horse and I have no worry about the lock failing me (such as with a liner or newer locking mechanisms.) A very solid design, no blade play. Opens with a satisfying click.

* Sharp
This thing was very sharp out of the box. I did a few cutting tests with paper and cardboard and it sure did work.

* Look
While my father thinks it 'looks funny' I have grown to love this knife over a day or two. While not the look of the traditional folder, the Spyderco blade design / spydie hole has really won a place in my heart (aww).

My next purchase will be a SS Dragonfly.

Congrats on the Delica. Sounds like you've been infected with the knife curse, though. You'll probably go through twenty or so Spydercos, random models from other companies, and then you'll be wanting to know what all this Sebenza talk is about. Have fun.

What is all this Sebenza talk about?:foot:

LOL :)

That's what I'm thinking too.

I've been fighting all day to order that Dragonfly.

Congratulations on the new knife RenegadeRows. The Delica 4 is one of my favorite knives. Despite having 'nicer', more expensive, higher-end knives I find myself using my D4s the most.

My Delica 4 has been my main pocket clip EDC since I got mine a month ago. And I've been carrying/using Delicas on/off since '97. This one is definitely the best version so far, IMHO. And its newly modified tip shape is much more desirable/effective for my own uses; it even seems to add more cutting force to the area near the tip.
