well i broke the blade terying to strighten it. there was a micro crack in it from heat treating and all it needed was a little force and it went ping. so sad, o well it was fun while it lasted. now to make another.

also was there a gauge on the press (you know how much it took?)
 
Question. What's the best way to straighten a blade before HT if you don't have a press? Don't wanna hijak the thread but this got me thinking here.

yes the grain was very nice, i did not look like the grain on a file when you brake one. i dont have a guage on the press, i hardley tuched it when it snaped. maybe i should turn the blade into a blade for a pocket knife :rolleyes:.
