first khuk: questions, comments

I don't have a kesar, but I've decided from the pics I've seen that he does some of the prettiest work I've seen on any of the HI knives.
What is it Uncle Bill calls him, Old Reliable???
Again, congratulations, and go out there and have fun with the knife. Stock they look great on the mantle, but once they've been used you have a full appreciation of what they can do and they basically can't be hurt so they still look great.

Uncle Bill,

It seemed everybody had them fancy thingamabob sharpeners but me! I'm slowly learning how to deal with the recurve on a polishing stone, those abrasive rods are probably easier, but what the heck. Anyway, its getting the edge the first time thats hard.

After I posted that list of sharpeners, I occurred to me that in a lot of remote places, one could probably still trade that stuff (taken for granted here) for a few handmade blades.

Probably want to bolt fast before they found out how fast the carborundum paper wears though. Whoever traded for that would probably want a refund, maybe with serious interest.
