First kill of the season

That's an impressive hunting setup you got there!:thumbup:

Thanks. I bought that gun in 2000 and have shot 29 deer in the last 7 seasons counting this one. I gave up slug gun hunting for 5 years until they came out with better slugs. Now I use a TC Encore 20 gauge with Winchester Platinum tip slugs. Basically a 260 grain handgun bullet in a shotgun shell. Very accurate and deadly.

Nicely done my friend.

Nothing like an early season doe to get the season started. :D

I would be very interested in knowing what knives YOU used on this deer.

The knife in your picture looks like the same size as I would select for field dressing, what knives did you choose for skinning and butchering?

Pictures would be great.

Mike

Mike, I went ahead and used the knife pictured for the entire process. Skinning and butchering. This size knife can take care of all that needs to be done with a whitetail size big game. I'd be curious if it could handle elk size big game too.

My buddy dropped a small doe this evening. They were on the move tonite. We missed two others. My A2 PSK knife made short work of his deer.
