Rough ground out of NJSteelBaron 1084 with an angle grinder:
After forging and cleaning up a bit:
Lots of hand filing and grinding:
Semi-finished after attaching a cobobolo/curly maple handle; I've actually done more work to it at this point but this is close.
Since then I actually went back and dropped the tip down on it a bit, flattened out the the spine, reduced the curvature of the blade, etc. This took a TON of work once it was hardned, but live and learn.
All in all it cuts fairly well and I'm happy with it as a first effort, but I realized about 100 things I should have done differently - most importantly, take more stock off before HT!
