First kitchen style blade

So I was tinkering around and decided to try some sort of kitchen style blade. It took quite a long while to file but I really like it. My mom is gonna get a fancy knife for her birthday I believe. Well let me know what you guys think of it.
It's dyed curly mango handle material with a mustard patina.

5 1/4 blade. I wish I would have put more of a belly on the blade.View attachment 522132
 
Thanks guys! It's nice and sharp. I wish I would have moved my pins a little bit but that's something I can only get down through trial and error.
 
Looks good! Most people's first kitchen knives don't look very useful, but that one is real solid. It looks like a hakata bocho to me.

It was loosely based on a banno bunka style except smaller. I made a utility/paring knife for my girlfriend and got it finished up this morning before she made me work on the bathroom remodel... Let me know what you think of it, I left the heat treat scale on it. I think it looks pretty cool.

Looks like it would be good with the veggies. Good looking knives.
