Hey all! I recently got bit by the bug, you know what I'm talking about. Now I can't stop the ideas from flowing. So, I think Ill try my hand at getting some kind knife making going in my garage. I guess I don't really know where to start except for asking you experienced guys, what do you think about my first design? Please be kind, but realistic in your critiques, I'd love to hear if I have something that will work, or back to the drawing board. Thanks in advance!

OA length is 9in.

Take out the notch where the handle meets the ricasso. That will not be comfortable and it's not needed, just make that a smooth curve. Also, the straight line from the middle of your handle to where the tip drops doesn't look quite right to me. If you can keep a gentle curve to the spine it will be more pleasing to the eye. I like your handle shape though, it looks good.

Yeah, that notch was my attempt at adding something interesting to where the handle material would stop, I agree it is unnecessary and will definitely be left out.

Agree with the notch . I think the clip point is too short . A 1/2 or 3/4 inch farther back would look nicer . Of coarse , that is just MY opinion .

I agree with everyone on the notch. I also got bit by the bug lol good luck making knives and most of all be safe and enjoy it!!!!
