First knife did I ruin it?

So I started making my first knife. I have limited access to tools so everything was done by hand. I just finished the bevel and was looking into heat treating and just heard you should take it down to 80 percent of the done thickness to prevent warping. Oh took it all the way down to just about sharp. How can I fix this and also where can I send it for heat treating. I have heard Pete's is great but also to they are expensive for just one blade. Any suggestions?

You will have more luck in the General Knifemakers area of the forum. I was taught that the cutting edge should not be less than .025 of inch, if you try heat treating it will warp like a potato chip. Hey for your first knife you are going to make mistakes, I have a whole pail of them on my shop floor.
