First knife for 12yr old.

I got my first real knife when I was about 5, SAK with knife, saw, and all the other toys. My first fixed blade I got when I was around 7. I think at 12 years old your son is the perfect age for a good fixed blade knife. Either the Izula of the ESEE 3 would make for a great first fixed blade for your son. Being at that age your hands are still pretty small, the Izula might just be the best choice!

Yeah, my 11 year old cousin really likes my BK-11 and it's a little big for him so the Izula would be a perfect fit.
 
My vote is for the Izula, a great knife for a 12 years old to start with. See how good he takes care of it then maybe he might get the RC-3 in the near future.
