Hi folks,

This is the first knife out of the shop i've been creating, and my third knife overall, and i'm looking for some feedback.

Specs:
.156 1084
Jade Ghost G-10, Copper pinstripe with black fiber liner.
Copper pins.

Thanks for your time,
Adin

Very nice and clean. Simple curves and crisp bevel lines........first class job for #3 or #300.

I suspect the open-back lanyard hole in the handle was caused by the hole getting too close to the edge of the scales ( mother of invention :) ), but I really like the look. It will keep the lanyard from rubbing the palm in use.

Thanks for the kind words Stacy and jwesthurl.

Stacy: You're right about the open back lanyard hole, but i'm with you in liking the outcome.

That is bloody impressive. I really like the profile and the attention you have given to the handle. I also really like how the lanyard hole turned out - it is a good point of interest and kind of adds balance to the aesthetic. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Im really liking the .156 1084 . It seems I can make it behave like .125 or .187 , depending on the style of knife I choose to make .
Seems like you can make that steel conform to your wishes rather nicely!

Someone said it in a thread sometime back, but I'm gonna say it again because of Adin's work here......the "first knives" being made by new knifemakers keep getting better and better, some of which, like Adin's, are just fanstastic first pieces. Great job!!!!

She looks very comfortable and functional. Super job! 1084 is a great choice. You were asking for some feedback so here is mine. I think it is just a matter of attention to detail at this point. The size, shape of the blade and handle look very nice. If you like the as-forged surface for the blade flats that's cool but show the grind a little more love. Make sure that the plunge lines are straight (not necessarily straight down but clean and straight at whatever angle you chose to grind it). Also, try to have the grind line a consistent distance from the edge in a nice smooth arc. That's all I have. It's a cool knife. Now make another. :)

Thanks for the support everyone!
Eric Brinkerhoff: I agree. I originally ordered it cause Aldo was out of 1/8, but I'm enjoying its versatility a lot.

I4Marc: Thanks for the feedback. Yup, the bevels need work, there are some glue lines showing on the handle scales, and there are some rasp marks left on the handle contours, among other flaws. But, I learned from all my mistakes, and it's time to make another. :)
