I have started on my very first knife I am still cleaning it up. It is 1080 steel 1/8 in. thick and width is about 1 1/2 inches and about 7 inches in overall length. I know it's not perfect but it is going better than I expected so far. I plan on putting a flat grind on it. Here is what I have done at the moment just working on it when I get a little spare time I've got about 2 hours in it so far.

Looking good so far. Are you planning on doing the bevels by hand or do you have a grinder. Post up some pictures once you get done I would like to see to it. It can definitely become addicting just a warning.

I have a belt grinder I plan to use on it. I'll put more pics up once I get more work done on it.

I like that you're not just doing a totally generic shape. Your curves on the from handle edge look really smooth, but you've got a little notch on the blade side of your finger guard. I would smooth that out before you start grinding. A 3/4" sanding drum should do the trick.

Cool thanks I do plan to take that out.
