First Knife made for Soldier

Again guys, I really appreciate the comments. I've been thinking about this some. I think Pratt went into this with an open mind and what really amazed me, the willingness to listen. Both are unusual for an eighteen year old. I guess he was out of his element and had no preconceived ideas about how it should be done. As I walked him through the process, he paid attention and didn't get in a hurry. It is true that the knife is just a three piece knife that is not polished, it is bead blasted. Polishing would have added another whole dimension not to mention what a more complicated handle would have added. He did do a good job though and I am proud of that. It is a good first knife.

His choice of what to do with it was off the charts in my book. He found out last week that a guy, that was several years ahead of him in school and his brother's friend, will be finishing up Ranger School in a couple of weeks. I think that he will be giving him the knife.

Steven, I found out with his two brothers that they don't come with instructions, you just do the best you can to teach them right from wrong, stand behind them so that you can give them a push when they need it, catch them when they need that and give them a whack when they need that too. I will enjoy the beer! Thanks!
