First knife of 2021?

View attachment 1483473
After trying out the Hogue Deka and being impressed with it over my BM models i finally pulled the trigger on a Hogue Ritter grip, scoring a sweet deal on the exchange for a “light user” that only had a a little carry time and no cutting per the listing. Should be here mid week and the first 2021 mail call :). If its anything like the Deka’s quality i will be sold on Hogue for sure .
Lol I sat there and looked at that for a few minutes before you posted youd take it. I was contemplating it hard...should have pulled the trigger lol.

I got a bad monkey the other day. I have to send it back...I cant believe how much bigger it is in person. I do have med/large hands though so a bit on the small side...either way as soon as I opened it I knew no matter how much I like the design and love everything about it ill never use it. Gona use the money to grab a giant mouse grand instead (when they get in stock, im patient) so that'll be the first knife of the new year for me. Also going to cut back again on spending on knives for a while after that.

Picked up these two after they had been languishing in customs jail since 30 Dec 20.
Still cheaper, after customs (20% total value incl postage) and Royal Mail ransom, to order from USA than buy in the UK.

I was naughty and purchased a Para 3 in S110V. Complete impulse purchase I justified to myself with 'well, last year was tough and I want to celebrate the new one with a little something for me'.

So I did!

Ps. I will probably end up purchasing a whole load of stropping gizmos to complement my new knife.

And I hold all of you responsible; I wouldn't have known I had all these problems to solve without your collective knowledge (thanks!).

First, and quite possibly last, knife purchase of 2021 was ordered today, January 02,2021.
A new BTI Old Timer 7OT. (with tan/brown vertical leather sheath.)
Why? I like the 7OT, and the Saw Cut Delrin covers will match my BTI Old Timer 858OT and 858OTB, unlike my vintage made in ASA Old Timer 7OT'S. There is a difference in colors, and the number, and size of grooves per inch. The vintage ones have a reddish hue, and are finer, with more per inch.

It should arrive by mid-month, with a bunch of archery, and "old man"/"old thing" things, like a cane, and reach extender.
(it's disgusting that they've moved the floor and ground so far away these last few years ...)

I don't need any more knives.
That doesn't mean I won't buy any...but I expect my 2021 knife purchases to be few in number.
I won't guess at the specific knife; but my guess is that it will be made by either Nathan the Machinist or Robert Erickson.

Well, I ordered another SAK Spartan on 2 Jan. No plans to do so but, I lost one. Last night I found the one I was missing. So now I have an extra. :)

No serious plans for any other knives this year.

Fair enough buddy. Considering all the things out there trying to kill us, heart attack, car wreck, the big C, etc. Those that live a longer life win the race ! I just finished lightening up a pack because of the grey in my beard. As for the redundant toys.......... A Cold Steel Large Espada on xmas eve, and yesterday I ordered two pink with black blade Rat1's along with another Coyote brown and black blade.

Having one knife already on the way I probably shouldn’t be looking to buy another, but I am. lol
I was looking at OTFs when I ended up ordering the LUDT, but it was something on my “list”, so I didn’t stray too far. I’m going to maintain tunnel vision this time...WINKLER
