No point in starting out small right? Had someone ask me for a large bowie. I was trying to avoid having it look clunky. How did I do? Largest knife I've tried so far. About 15 inches of 1084 and Indian ebony. Now to start on the sheath.

That grinder has turned you into a regular Michelangelo of the knife making world...really nice

Go big or go home as they say. Nice work. What are you buying next?

My next purchase will be a heat treat oven so I can start working with stainless steels. But That might be a while. The money I spent on the 2x72 might have been better spent on the heat treat oven.

Here is a pic of the other side like requested. The pic shows a shadow on the swedge. I'm still trying to figure out how to take a picture with reflective areas everywhere and not have at least one bad reflection. In this case the Handle and swedge have shadow or glare.

The guard is stainless and was cut out on the portaband. Love that little saw! As always I had to make 2 because I cant seem to get a good guard fit using files in one try or sometimes 2. How do other do it without a mill?

Fitting the Guard without a mill is best done with a filing jig some good files and take your time and test fit often...its easy to test fit often and have a fit you may need to drive on than to have to start over.

I've seen where somebody used to file guide for filing the hole in the guard. Seems like it would help keep the line straight in the corner of square.

Well, the sheath is almost done, needs to dry and get finished and a snap. A piece of Faux Croc I picked up at tandy last week. My 5th sheath (in leather)and first trying an inlay, so any suggestions would be helpful.
