First Knife, Shaping Bevel Question

Hi all, making my first knife, a simple kiradashi-

I'm shaping my bevel at the moment, what do your recommend the final thickness at the edge should be? Using 01 annealed tool, I still need to do some final finishing before I take a crack at hardening it.

.30" or so is usually good for carbon steels. It will be tough filing after you harden it to get the edge on down to .010" or less though. Looks good so far!
