Well, I finally sold my first knife. it started out as a tactical knife "Number 2", and then evolved into a 3" recurved blade paring knife of A-2 with a 600 belt finish and a dymondwood handle. Sold it for $30 to a person at work!

Congratulations!!!!!!I can remember my first sale,Boy was it a ego boost.Bet you can't wait for the next one.Just think all that hard work and sweat and someone else liked it as much as you or more as they bought it.Keep up the good work and start grinding

Set the hook, double header, two fish on and by the sounds of it already landed.
Congrats guys, it is infectious, and there is no knowen cure.
Wish I would have gotten that much cash for my first knife, I could have bought 3 or 4 new file to replace the ones I destroyed making the knife.
Still have that darn knife any takers?

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!http://www.nebsnow.com/L6steel

congratulations. i'm glad to hear your number 2 knife worked out good, after the trouble you had.

Congratulations!!! that first knife that you sell will always stick out vividly in your mind.

I was very fortunate to sell my first for $125, but no matter what they sell for, I'm sure it always ends up in the "new materials" fund.

Keep it up!!!

Thanks guys! the next one will go for $25, cuz it is for my uncle and partly a gift from me and his wife, so I am sucking up about 2/3 of the cost. Number 2 took a while...i might have gotten $1 an hour! And today, after owning the knife for less that 24 hours, she cut hereself. I guess that proves it was sharp!

I am doing a kit from texas knifemakers supply for someone at work for $20, a 8" kitchen knife with winewood dymond wood handles. And I bought a patch knife (russel green river) kit for myself cuz it looked cool

. So i basically already spent the $30, but i made another $10 sharpening knives, so its all good! Next toy will be a grizzly 10" aluminum contact wheel for $60 as i am trying to build me own belt sander. And i have about 8 more blades getting ready to grind soon and send to HT. Ranging from fighters, to tradational shaped tantos w/clay HT, to chisel point tantos, i will be very busy for the next few weeks before I go to college!
