Here is how my first knife is coming. It is 1080 Steel 1/8" thick. I started grinding with 50, 80, and have given it a couple passes with 120. Should I go finer and then heat treat? What thickness do I want the edge to be at when I heat treat? Any critiques or comments would be appreciated if you can see anything from the pictures. I know my tang holes are off, but I am putting on a micarta handle so I am not concerned. Thanks!

I think you are pretty ready to go, thickness of a dime is about right and you will need to grind a bit more off after HT, down to about 0.015. I would not take it any farther. If you are going to use small pins you need a couple of holes for them prior to HT, consider the others for a nice balance.
