First Knife WIP

Get some dykem and scribe the shape in the steel and it should be a perfect transfer of the drawing.
I was actually going to get some dykem anyway so that I could evenly rise the bevels. I guess I'll start using it to transfer my drawings onto the steel. Thanks for the tip :)

Also, what should I buy or make so that I can scribe a centered edge onto the blade? I've seen some people make homemade scribers, some use height gauges, and others use a drill bit the size if the steel. Recommendations?

Drill bits work, and you probably already have one, that's what I use.
But boy would I like to have a height gauge! Lol!

Latest progress of the knife, got it cut out to final shape, and I'm ready to drill holes in the tang for my pins. I was thinking one mosaic pin towards the front of the scales, and one lanyard hole in the back, very similar to my sketch. Hopefully this weekend, I'll go to Gilmer Wood Company, recommended by marekz in his Knifemaking Suppliers List (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/699736-Knifemaking-Suppliers-List) which has kept me from asking a lot of stupid questions, as have the stickies. Before I start profiling the blade, I'm going to order a pferd 12" bastard file, or some NOS Nicholson files from Ebay, as the cheap set I have right now are junk. I also need to buy some epoxy as well as dykem. Any thoughts on the knife so far?

It's been a while, and I've made little progress on the knife compared to the time that's gone by. I marked the center of the blade with a drill bit, and filed in my bevels which don't look that great. I went a little too fast I think, and I didn't pay enough attention to the plunge line or progress of consistently raising the bevel. At least I've gained a bit of knowledge on how to do better the next time. I started to clean up one side with some 100 grit, still have to clean up the other, and make everything as solid as I can before HT, which I plan to do on a blown charcoal forge. I'll drill some holes for pins as soon as I have them in my possession. I may get some mosaic pins, but I might just go simple with stainless or brass. Any advice or feedback is always greatly appreciated.
