This is my first knife, all stock removal as I started it before I built my forge. This picture is prior to the heat treat I did earlier. The steel is 1084. The heat treatment was actually easier than I expected but I found my burner is farther back in the forge than was best for the length of this blade. I'll cut a slot out of the back of the forge to help with that issue.

Congrats on the heat treat success. Did you drill the pin holes pre heat treat, or is the tang still soft based on the burner placement?

The tang is still soft as I clay'ed the spine of the blade and the part of the tang that was in the oil during quench. After tempering I noticed the blade has a twist, most likely due to the clay not being even between the sides. I'm going to clay and re-heat treat it.
