First knife

Hello all.
I'm in the process of making my first knife & after looking on here I really love the look that using liners in the handle gives. What does everyone use for the liners?

This may be a dumb idea. As I work in IT I thought it would be cool to use a piece of a Motherboard as a liner. I have different colors at my disposal. Is this a dumb idea? I'm struggling to find any vulcanized fiber down this way.
