So I made my first knife this week and I'm almost finished. I'm really hoping that this like any other art gets better with practice because its not the beautiful knife I had in my mind anyone else have similar experiences I'm going to keep trying but I definitely need work.

I think the rest of us got it perfect the fist time
It takes a lot of practice. Have fun with it and keep striving to improve........I`ve been building knives for almost half my life and still have a long ways to go, that`s what makes it fun.

I totally know what you mean. I was really bummed by my grind lines. Once I finished everything and put the handle on there, sanded it up to about 1500 I started to like it more. Just stick with it, each knife gets a TINY bit better.
